The Rock's First Under Armour Shoe
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Under Armour just released a new training shoe along with an entire line of apparel for both men and women. The new shoe called Project Rock Delta Training Shoe is made with Under Armour's patented Charge Cushioning, which helps to absorb impact. It also has high ankle support and deep flex grooves, both are to help stability and flexibility. The new shoe quickly sold out and is now only available for pre-order and is not expected to ship to customers until August 15th. The shoe retails for $139.99 on UA.com.
After signing with Under Armour in January of 2016, The Rock had announced in October that that he would be releasing his first shoe in 2017. In March, he backed up his statement and said the new shoes would be coming in April.
Right now Under Armour could use any support The Rock can provide to it's brand. Over the past year Under Armour's stock has dropped about 51%. Under Armour also broke its streak of 26 consecutive quarters of at least 20% revenue growth when it reported just a 12% growth in the fourth quarter of 2016.
The start of The Rock's biggest release for Under Armour shows things trending back to that 20% growth Under Armour became so used to. I'm sure The Rock's 82 million Instagram followers and 11 million Twitter followers will help Under Armour start a new streak of revenue growth each quarter, starting with the Project Rock Delta.
