Marshawn Lynch to the... Patriots?!?!
After retiring and taking a year off from football, Marshawn Lynch has been rumored to be coming out of retirement and he wants to play for his home town Oakland Raiders. He is still technically under contract with the Seattle Seahawks so they would have to either release him or trade him in order for him to play for the Raiders. But just days ago reports indicated that the Lynch-to-Oakland scenario might start to happen, and then this happened.
That's just not fair, right? Can you imagine adding Lynch to an offense already with Tom Brady, Brandin Cooks, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman? If that were to happen I would feel as if I was living in the video game of Madden. What makes this news even more fascinating is it came from Lynch's camp and was not reported or leaked by the New England Patriots. Of course no one knows what is going through Lynch's head at anytime so this obviously isn't much to read into.
Can you imagine Bill Belichick and Lynch in the same locker room or on the same sideline? HBO's Hard Knocks is licking their chops right now.
Of course it is more than likely the Patriots resign LeGarrette Blount or sign Adrian Peterson. Even though Peterson was once the best running back in the NFL, he isn't of that same caliber anymore after multiple injuries the previous years. I think he could resurrect his career in New England, but not at the same caliber of talent that Lynch can still provide. Luckily for all of us non-Patriots fans, this is a highly unlikely scenario, but fun to think about. Of course we are talking about Marshawn Lynch, so who knows what could happen.
