Wil Myers Touches Them All
On Monday night San Diego Padres first baseman Wil Myers was able to complete the cycle (single, double, triple, home run) in four consecutive at bats against the Colorado Rockies. The cycle was only the second in the Padres history, and ironically enough both occurred at Coors Field in Colorado (Matt Kemp in 2015). Already coming into Monday night's game with eleven hits in the first seven games, Myers feat seemed to come at ease. In four at bats, Myers singled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, homered in the sixth inning, and tripled in the eighth. Having to get what seemingly appears to be the hardest leg of the cycle, the triple, Myers was able to lace a line drive into the left center field gap in the eighth inning. After the game, Myers admitted he immediately thought triple when he hit it and also stated he was digging so hard for third base, that he felt he was going to fall over. Countless times in the past Myers was able to complete 3/4th of the cycle, never being able to accomplish the three base feat until last night.
